ABOUT THE GREENFIST CHALLENGE

Raising New Talents

The Greenfist event aims to identify and raise new talents in offensive and defensive security.

While the event is focused on Hackathon challenge, Greenfist encompasses a whole lot of other activities including series of learning boot camps, community engagements and mentoring sessions with industry experienced experts.

The Hackathon Challenge

Greenfist Hackathon challenges are organized in jeopardy-CTF (Capture the Flag Challenges) competition.

Areas covered in the CTF include Malware Analysis, Reverse Engineering, Threat Intelligence, Digital Forensics, Cryptography, Mobile App Exploitation, Web Application Exploitation, Network & Server Exploitation and Programming.

The Competition

During the event, we pitch young rangers in a real-life cyber security challenge.

Participants are selected from regions across the continent and are grouped in teams. Teams compete against players from same country first in an elimination round, then the top teams will then represent the country in the final rounds where the best teams emerge as top winners.

GREENFIST QUALIFYING ROUNDS

STAGES IN THE COMPETITION

On the hacking challenge, participants will earn points for solving challenges, individuals earning the most points will qualify to participate in a advanced stages in the qualifying rounds.

ABOUT THE ETHICAL HACKING LABS
The labs are geared towards helping the participants understand the art of vulnerabilities discovery, and vulnerabilities exploitation. Participants are guided through the core aspects of hacking covering dozens of techniques and a variety of offensive security techniques.

GREENFIST FINALS

We are dedicated to raising the top young offensive and defense ethical hackers all over Africa. The final stage will consist of winners at the various country or regional level challenges. At the finals teams compete to solve more demanding hacking challenges in a fast-paced setting.

Teams are made up of 3 to 5 players, 18 years of age or older. There will be a scoreboard where points will be assigned at the end of the competition based on the challenges that were completed. Each challenge will have a number of points based on the outcome and weight of the challenge. Winners will be selected based on the greatest number of points earned. In case of a tie, the team with the earlier submission of the last flag will be the winner.
